Deck Strategy
Articuno EX + Greninja
The Blizzard Sniper Deck relies heavily on the synergy between Articuno EX and Greninja.
Articuno EX serves as the deck’s main active Pokémon. With its Blizzard attack (costing three Water Energy), it can deal 80 damage to the opponent’s active Pokémon and 10 damage to all Pokémon on the opponent’s bench. On the other hand, Greninja excels thanks to its Water Shuriken ability. Once played, Greninja can inflict 20 damage to a Pokémon of your choice on the opponent’s side, even while remaining on the bench.
This combination makes the deck highly effective at damaging benched Pokémon, preventing opponents from evolving or utilizing their full potential.
Articuno EX + Misty
ThArticuno EX should be the first Pokémon played, as its solid setup lays the groundwork for evolving Froakie into Greninja.
Drawing Misty early in the game further accelerates Articuno EX’s setup. Misty allows you to quickly attach the necessary Energy cards to Articuno EX, enabling it to exert significant pressure on your opponent from the start of the match.
Sabrina
Sabrina is a strategic card that plays a crucial role in this deck. It can be used to force the opponent to switch a damaged Pokémon from the bench into the active spot, allowing you to finish it off and secure a point.
Other Possible Cards
Kangaskhan is an excellent basic Pokémon to include in your deck if you encounter difficulties evolving Froakie into Greninja. With 100 HP, Kangaskhan provides solid defensive value, allowing you to buy time. Additionally, thanks to its move (and with a bit of luck), you can deal 30 or 60 damage to the opponent’s Pokémon.
This card can replace one copy of X-Speed, sacrificing part of the strategy in favor of increased defense and consistency, especially in the early turns. Kangaskhan is particularly useful for covering any delays in Froakie’s evolution and maintaining pressure on the opponent.
Red Card is an extremely useful card against combo decks that rely on a large hand to activate their strategies. Playing it in the early turns, especially when your opponent has many cards in their hand, can put them in serious trouble. In this case, one copy of Red Card can replace one copy of X-Speed, adding an element of control to the deck without sacrificing too much of the overall strategy.
